Attendance - |
|
Being in school everyday is very
important and is tied to doing well school. |

Your child should be on time and stay for the full
day. This tells him that school is important and helps
him learn good work habits.

Call the school if your child is sick. Talk with
the teacher if you know your child will miss school and
needs to make up work.

Communication - |
|
Being in touch is the key to knowing
what's going on at your child's school. |
- Attend parent/teacher
conferences.
- Ask to meet with the teacher if
you are worried about your child.
- Let your child’s teacher know if things have changed at home
that might effect the way he acts or performs in class.

H Health

|
Good health is needed for your child
to do well in school. |

Keep the same
bedtime every night. Make sure your child gets
plenty of rest.

Offer healthy meals and snacks for your child.

See your child’s doctor as needed for shots and physicals.

Interest - |

Your child needs to know that how she
does in school is important to you. |

Ask questions that
let your child tell you about her day. (How, What,
Where, When?)

Show you care by talking about how your child did on her report
card and set goals for how she can do better.

Expect the best from your child.
Expect your child to use the "ABC" rule. Expect

- Ask questions and ask for
help when he needs it.
- Behave in a way that
allows him and others to learn.
- Complete class work and
homework.

Support the school by volunteering to
help either in class or at home when you can.

- Talk to your child’s school about
your interest in helping.
- Helping with one event or
activity shows your child that you care about what
happens at her school.

Praise and value your child’s effort. |
- Tell your child how proud you are
of him.
- Show your child’s work in your home.
